Challenge
Poultry farmers operate in an environment where precision and efficiency are critical, yet traditional methods often lead to manual, time-consuming processes. Monitoring bird health, adjusting ventilation, tracking feed consumption, and ensuring ideal environmental conditions require constant physical presence, forcing farmers to spend hours walking barns, checking equipment, and troubleshooting issues reactively. Data is fragmented, making it difficult to predict problems like mortality spikes, disease outbreaks, or equipment failures. Without real-time insights, decision-making is largely based on experience and guesswork, leading to lost productivity, higher operational costs, and increased stress.
My Role & Contribution
As the Lead UX Designer I worked directly with poultry farmers across multiple regions to uncover their daily challenges and operational bottlenecks. Over six weeks, I conducted in-depth UX research, on-site and remote interviews, and hands-on observation to identify pain points — from the exhaustion of constant barn monitoring to frustration over unreliable data.
I translated these insights into detailed user journeys, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, iterating through continuous testing across multiple time zones.
