Challenge

A global data solutions leader, faced challenges in enabling customers to explore and analyze data across hybrid cloud environments. IT bottlenecks in setting up analytics environments were causing delays, increasing costs, and frustrating users. With data spread across AWS S3, Hadoop, and on-premises sources, they needed a solution to

My Role & Contribution

I worked closely with the client’s product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure the platform met both user needs and technical requirements. I facilitated design thinking workshops, iterative feedback sessions, and technical deep dives to align on goals, address constraints, and explore opportunities for innovation.

Collaborating closely with stakeholders throughout agile sprints, I led the creation of wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows, incorporating continuous user testing and refinement to optimize functionality and usability. The result was a robust, scalable solution that exceeded expectations, delivering an experience that balanced technical sophistication with intuitive design.

Solution

A fully managed, self-service cloud platform that allows users to quickly and easily analyze data from multiple sources. The platform supports diverse file formats, including JSON, CSV, and Parquet, and integrates with popular third-party tools such as Tableau, Python, and R.
Key features of the platform include:

  • Self-Service Portal: Enables business users to load, experiment with, and analyze data without IT involvement. The platform automatically configures a database environment and provides a user-friendly query builder for executing complex SQL queries.
  • Elastic Performance: The platform offers three performance tiers, allowing users to optimize for speed or cost. This ensures that queries can scale to meet workload demands, reducing latency and infrastructure overhead.
  • Real-Time Analytics: By integrating with AWS S3 and other cloud environments, the platform ensures real-time access to fresh data, enabling quicker decision-making and improving time-to-insight.

Impact
